Fruit Soup is an independent music label based in England. It represents artists from all corners of the musical spectrum, spreading music digitally as far and wide as possible.
The Fruit Soup is driven by a love for music and is devoted to finding, making and promoting music to anyone who would like to listen.
Seeking an outlet for their creative works, The Fruit Soup was founded by Rob Hamer, David Heath and Jan Staunton in 2007 as a means of distributing their own music, with the intention of growing to represent other select artists.
The label's first release was the long-awaited Colin Close EP in late 2007.
The Fruit Soup specialises in promoting self-proficient artists - those who enjoy the process of recording and producing their own music - to create a strong home for many forms of colourful music and people.
The Fruit Soup online could not have been brought to you without the dedication of Rich Adams (http://wblinks.com).

Jan is a man's man. A cool guy who's not afraid to have a bit of a drink. He smells like cheese. If he were in the A-Team he would be Mr.T.

Is not Mr T.

Rob is part of the duo Colin Close, in which he plays the acoustic guitar. Taking up the guitar at the age of around fifteen, Rob is self-taught and enjoys both acoustic and electric music. While the more reserved acoustic works are created exclusively for Colin Close, Rob's louder side is expressed through playing 'big-band' electric rock and metal music. He has been in several bands since the age of eighteen, and remains a member of Colin Close, which was formed officially with close friend and Fruit Soup co-founder Jan Staunton in 2006. Rob has been influenced and continues to be inspired by the works of Elliott Smith, Dire Straits, Metallica, Tool, José González, Eric Clapton, Black Sabbath, and a whole load of blues artists both old and new.
